COM3300   Experiencing Genesys   (10 credits)

Pre-requisites   Students from departments other than Computer Science must supply the module leader with a CV that describes their experience and explains how they expect to contribute to the work of Genesys, before their registration for this module will be approved.
Additional Information   Not open to students from the Department of Computer Science except those on Enterprise Computing and ITMB.

Description

This module involves students helping and understanding the forming and running of companies that offer IT consultancy and software development services to outside organisations. The emphasis of the work will be on learning how small IT companies are created and managed, the legal and financial frameworks within which such companies operate, the practical management of the companies and the processes of requirements gathering from clients and software design and testing.
